Two completely different games called Super Turrican were released. One was released for the NES, the other one was an SNES game.
NES:
Super Turrican for the NES was developed by Manfred Trenz alone. It is a remake of Turrican 1, using better graphics, music (some music was taken from other Turricans), the Turrican 2 weapons and lots of changes in the levels.
It seems to be the least well known Turrican - which is not fair, considering it's quality. It has a big problem though - Turrican is running near the TV-border - very near.
Hint: Do the Super Mario - you can run faster if you hold down the fire button.
SNES:
The SNES-game was developed by Factor5 and Kaiko. It was very close to Turrican 1 and 2, but it was smaller. The gameplay was fine-tuned: Invulnerability after hit was implemented, wheel-mode was limited and the "every-direction-shoot" only freezes enemies - but surely not everybody liked Turrican's abilities being cut.
