T2002 / T-Starter Problems

I've successfully installed T2002 and have been trying to get the T-Starter working so that I can play custom-made levels.

I followed the instructions (a Word document - I can't recall which site it came from) for doing this, installing the Update and T-Starter, but when I then downloaded and tried to load a custom level the T-Starter says it cannot load the game.

It's hard to figure out what is wrong because so much of the information on the software is written in German and I cannot understand it. Can anyone explain the procedure for getting T2002 running with the level editor and T-Starter installed in clear terms? Or is there anywhere I can download a package of everything necessary to do this without all of the fiddling about?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Did you use the T Starter to download the level? Can you make a screenshot of the error message?

Okay, I'm attempting the process from the beginning using the instructions on this website. The problem at the moment is that I have no idea whether the T2002E_Update installs correctly or not because all of the prompts are in German.

Could someone tell me what the prompts are asking me at each stage?

Oh well, it looks like I did something right this time - the custom levels are now loading perfectly. Thanks anyway!

Oh, good to know, I updated the English guide with "Don’t be afraid of the German T2002E setup: Just always click “ok”, “next”, and one time the walker."

Please update the levelbase version as well, Robert.

kodgetts, would you mind telling me what you did? I followed Bronkos guide, extracted the T starter into the T2002 directory, USED THE .BAT FILE and it still told me I need the T starter in the same directory as the T2002 and T2002 level editor. Can anyone help?

Maybe you didn't extract correctly? The TStarter.bat must be in the same directory as T2002E.exe...

K well I've gotten closer. I found the T2002E.exe hiding in the level editor directory in the T2002E folder, so I put that and the level editor in the same directory as T2002, and when I load T Starter it takes me to the Pekaro software screen, then the main T2002 game shows for a split second before closing me out of the game. Whats going on here?

If the t2002e.exe was hiding in the level editor directory - something is totally wrong. The installer should place it directly in the t2002 directory and it usually does so automatically.

Perhaps I'm not installing the T2002E properly then? I click "OK" everytime I see it in the installation process, and what I think means "next", but I don't see a T2002E anywhere in the T2002 directory after installing it.

We just need a english translation already!

Well after the automatic search (the one with all those blue >>>>>>>>>>>) is finished, it SHOULD have found the correct T2002 directory. A message like this appears: http://www.abload.de/img/correctadr.gif

Just click "ja", even if the path is not correct!
After clicking "next" you will be able to tell the setup the right path manually by clicking "Verzeichnis wechseln". After that, click the walker, and go on...
