Just bought a copy of Edge (UK) yesterday and I saw that this month as part of their continuing "The making of ..." series they had a 3 page spread of Turrican.
One interesting thing that was mentioned was that of games that influenced Turrican. One of them was called "Psycho-Nics Oscar" which seems to look a LOT like Turrican. There's info about it at mame.dk
The article is full of false facts.
It is not too bad if you at least eat the first page.
Factor5 never did anything for the C64.
Turrican got a long light saber...nice interpretation of the surround shot.
Nostalgic problem - colission detection...very ironic.
The article is very Factor5ish. One could think Manfred Trenz worked for them.
"Vertical parallax scrolling is very hard on the Amiga" says Julian Eggebrecht. This vertical parallax scrolling was Peter Thierolf's invention...and he wasn't even mentioned in the credits.
